One of my favorite memories from our summer vacation is the day that the girls and I went hiking the Rough Ridge trail, followed by kayaking on Price Lake.

The trail head is off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, south of Blowing Rock and it could be easily missed. The parking area is rather small but we got lucky with one or two cars leaving as we pulled in.

There are three areas where you can stop and take in the view. We hiked all the way to the top and just loved taking it all in.

Rough Ridge is definitely one of my favorite trails so far. We still have so many more to explore but I will return to this one on our next trip up to the mountains.
