I love exploring new to me areas for photography sessions and was not disappointed with the Doris Davis Wilderness Preserve in Parkland, Florida, where I met the Kirsner family on a recent Sunday evening. Everyone came prepared and with their best smiles. Karen reached out to me in advance about outfits, and while I don’t like to tell my clients what to wear, I’m always happy to give some advice. I’d say Karen understood the assignment! :) Their outfits are coordinated but not too matchy, matchy and stand out beautifully against the natural backdrop.

One thing I learned after doing a few family sessions is that it helps to stay flexible and go with the flow. Kids need time to get their wiggles out, and most love to explore, especially if they are in a new place. The boys were a dream. They followed my prompts to a tee and were always willing to take another photo. I try to involve the kids by giving them a few choices when it comes to posing.

Such a great spot to snap some forever moments for this awesome family!
