Happy New Year 2019
I wanted to take a moment and wish everyone a happy new year!
I don’t make any resolutions but always like to spend some time and reflect on what was and what may come.
This year I decided to do a project 365/photo a day on Instagram again and may recap that here from time to time. A few years ago, I modeled my project after the following quote:
“ Every day may not be good, but there’s one good thing in every day.” ~ Alice Morse Earl
I want to use this as my guide again this year and post a photo of one good thing about my day. Something I’m grateful for, something good that happened to myself, or those around me.
I think, I will also keep a gratitude journal and write down 3 things I’m grateful for each day. I got this idea from someone I follow on Instagram. She’s kept a gratitude journal for 5 years and I love the idea. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate or big, but rather a way to appreciate the little things.
Another photo project I decided to join again this year is the Eyecandy Project 52 moderated by Lashawn of Everyday Eyecandy. It’s a list of 52 weekly prompts that you can share either in the Facebook group, on Instagram, or anywhere you like. I’m going to share my images here once a week and will give a brief description of why I chose a specific photo or style. I am going to try very hard to only use my camera for this challenge.
One other photography goal I have is to start doing photo sessions. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for while and something out of my comfort zone so it’s a little scary. I just have to go for it and see how it goes. Anyone need family, kids, teen, pet portraits taken? Shot me an email and I’d be happy to chat. :)
A few other things on my list are to read one book each month (I like following Reese Witherspoon’s book club and did read some of her picks in 2018), do more yoga (I signed up for a 30 day yoga challenge with Yoga with Adrienne), use my new Bloom planner ( it’s so pretty), continue eating healthy and follow Weight Watcher’s to reach my goal, and exercise.
I also want to be more present in this space and share things with my readers and followers that bring me joy and that I find useful. I love sharing - sharing is caring after all. :) None of the above links are paid. I just wanted to share in case anyone is interested.
I’ll say good night for now but will pop in again soon. In the meantime, you can find me on Instagram or my Facebook page.
Thanks for being here. Thanks for reading.
xoxo, Susi
