Pumpkin Spice and everything nice...
*This post was previously published on BocaFrau.com and has been edited slightly. It was the very first blog post I ever published, a little more than 7 years ago. Back then I didn’t know what to expect, or for how long I would be doing this mommy blogging thing. And here I am, 7 years later, starting from scratch and giving it a go again.
I still remember the first time I was offered a piece of pumpkin pie and since I was at my first official Thanksgiving dinner with an American family I took a slice. I needed a lot of whipped cream and coffee to get that piece of homemade pie down. I couldn’t believe people would eat something so “yucky” and different and enjoy it on top of that! It was definitely not part of the “normal” German diet I grew up with.
Who would have thought that years later I would come to love everything pumpkin spice flavored. The proof is there…the freezer is packed with pumpkin spice waffles which I enjoyed for breakfast, the cabinet is filled with pumpkin spice tea which I nightly enjoy a cup of, our house is filled with the scents of pumpkin spice coming from the candles scattered around and the dish and hand soaps I cannot say no too.
Do you remember something that you never thought you would eat or drink and which you can’t live without now?
