October 2018
October was a fun month. We started the month off with a trip to Disney World for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. We got annual passes again this year after taking a year off and waiting for some things to open up. I’m happy we took the break since it seems just the more exciting to go again after
We had so much fun this trip. Hubby managed to get us a lunch reservation at LeCellier Steakhouse in Canada which are not the easiest to come by. It was truly phenomenal.
The girls and I did our usual routine of going to Magic Kingdom for half the day and then Animal Kingdom on Sunday before we head home later in the day.
October also means decorating for Fall and Halloween. I give our fireplace mantel a more fall looking decor which I can keep up through Thanksgiving. The Halloween decor goes on the dining room buffet and some of it outside as well. I do love to decorate but like to keep it simple and generally don’t over-do.
That little witch is one of my favorites. I bought it in Germany at a place called Hexentanzplatz (Witches Dancing Place) in Thale, a town in the Harz Mountains. It was probably the last day trip I went on with my Omi (grandma) and I just have such good memories from that day.
We also took a girl’s trip to my mom’s house and one of the things we all love to do is go to Ft. Myers Beach to watch the sunset. There’s an amazing restaurant (Pierside Grille) right next to the pier facing the Gulf of Mexico. Perfect for sunset watching.
Ash, her friend, and I went to see “A Star is Born” and oh my, was I ever in the downy dumps for a day or two. I couldn’t listen to the sound track right away, even though I love all of the songs. And can Bradley Cooper song, or what? I was so impressed. Can’t wait for the movie to come out on Amazon Prime so I can watch it again.
80’s party time. A friend of ours has a party around this time of year to celebrate her birthday. This year it was an 80’s theme and our friends and us decided to go in a bit different direction... Meet Axl and Slash and their groupies. :)
October also means Homecoming time at school. After a week of festivities and fun on campus, we had the big homecoming football game, which our team won. Homecoming court was also announced for the dance the next night.
Conner got ready at home and went stag with some of his buddies. His whole outfit is courtesy of Stitch Fix. I love that he used the service. He’s gotten some really nice, well fitting things.
Last but not least, Halloween! We had all of three trick or treaters in our neighborhood, so I was glad Ally was able to go with her friend and get a good amount of candy.
This picture is from Trunk or Treat at school so at least I got to see her in costume. She picked this Sally costume totally last minute when she saw all the Jack Skeleton stuff at Party City. She actually wanted to be a Vampire Alice in Wonderland but didn’t like the costume choice for that. So then she picked a female pikachoo which we were picking up when she fell in love with Jack and Sally.
And now it’s November. I’ll do a recap like this at the end of the month for sure but will try to post more throughout the month. Still coming up with some blog ideas...
